If a Leaf Falls Quietly

Will I be remembered if I disappear?

I always ask myself that question.

Will people notice? Or will I just be someone who wasn’t worth remembering?

I have spent so much of my life trying to make other people’s lives a little lighter. I smile. I listen. I care. I give pieces of myself freely, hoping that maybe one day someone will choose me with the same intention.

Maybe that expectation isn’t fair. Maybe people love differently.

But some days I can’t help feeling invisible.

Like I’m just a leaf passing through people’s lives—noticed for a moment, then forgotten the second the wind changes.

And that’s the part that hurts the most.

What if I were gone from their lives completely? What if one day I just vanished from the places where I’ve always been?

Would anyone notice the empty space? Would anyone miss me? Would anyone wish they had cared a little louder?

I don’t know.

Right now, I just can’t believe they would.

Maybe I’m not invisible. Maybe I’m just exhausted from always being the one who reaches first.
